Mark Myles

Jack of all trades. Master of some.

I’ve taken this tag line on becuse of the varied background of a life I’ve had. I’m not afraid to take risks for a perceived benefit and so I’ve tried a lot of things sometimes succeeding, sometimes failing (miserably), sometimes just meh. I’ve mastered some things, but nowhere near all. I still have a lot to learn and am loving the journey.

Currently, I work as a 911 Fire Dispatcher in beautiful Campbell River, BC, but have also joined and retired from military service, was an EMR with BC Ambulance, was a paid-on-call firefighter, worked in general construction, precision industrial surveying, founded and closed a new church and was in ministry for around 17 years. I have a Master’s degree in Leadership, an undergrad degree in Youth Work and an Associate Diploma in Religious Studies. I am a recipient of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal for my participation in OP BRIDGE.

My wife Keely and I have two very successful boys who have grown up and moved away and our beautifully talented daughter has just graduated from highschool.

I am certified by BC Housing as an Owner-Builder and have just finished building a secondary dwelling on my days off. Check it out! Book your stay at our Brass Apple Cottage.

I have a few other projects and dreams in the queue and hope to build motorcycles when I decide to “retire” one day. I’m not done yet, so join me on this crazy journey if you like. Visit my blog (not updated very often), or follow me on the socials!
